How the System Works

The system works by exporting employee data, pay codes, activity codes and labor-level information from ADP’s Time and Labor Management system. This data is then sent to the eTIMEphone server and imported using a web-based administrative program.

Once the data is imported into eTIMEphone, the system administrator uses the eTIMEphone web application to fine tune how employees interact with the eTIMEphone system (whether or not they are prompted for labor levels and activity codes, for example). The system administrator can also use this interface to assign employees to supervisors, which allows the supervisors to use the eTIMEphone interface to exchange voice messages with their assigned employees.

Employees dial an 800 number, then enters an employee number and password. Once authenticated, the employee uses the eTIMEphone system to enter time and attendance information, and to communicate with their supervisor. If configured to do so, the eTIMEphone system can accept or reject the information based on the phone number the employee calls from.

Periodically, the punch and transaction data collected by eTIMEphone is exported back to the Time and Labor Management system.
