Exporting Punch Data


eTIMEphone exports punch and pay code transactions to files which are then imported into the TLM application. The eTIMEphone web administration program lets you specify how often you want to export the files. There are multiple approaches to choose from:

 

Transferring Punch Data to the TLM System

 

·       For Enterprise eTIME installations refer to the “TLM Interface Guide” for the steps to set up Web Services to automate this process.

 

·       For TimeSaver installations there are two ways to perform this action:

a)   You can create a transaction file manually, at any time within eTIMEphone.

b)  You can setup the eTIMEphone scheduler to send the latest transactions to the system administrator via email.

 

To manually create a transaction file for upload to TimeSaver:

1.   Click on Import/Export and select the Export tab.


 

2.   Select one of the following:

-      To export all new punches since the last export click the Download Latest Punches

-      To export all punches for a particular time period click the Calendar icons under “Manual Export - ALL Punches” section to set the date and time range for the punches you want to export.

 

 

3.   The “Export eTIMEphone Punch Data window” displays: Click Proceed with Export.

4.   The new ETP file will display with the date and time and a download link . You will need to download and save the punch file to the appropriate data directory for your TLM application.


To export Punch Data using the eTIMEphone Scheduler:

1.   Click on Import/Export and select the Export tab.

 

2.   Type the email address of the administrator responsible for importing the files to the TLM application in the “To” text box under Email settings for punch download.

3.   Select one of the following:

-     Select Hourly.  The Hourly Settings dialog displays.  Click the down arrow, then select the number of minutes past the hour that you want to export punch and hours data.  Click Save.

-     Select Daily.  The Daily Schedule dialog displays.  Select the appropriate hour, minutes, and AM or PM setting from the dropdown lists.  Select the desired days of the week checkboxes.  Click Save.

-     Select Weekly.  The Weekly Schedule dialog displays.  Select the appropriate hour, minutes, and AM or PM setting from the Time of Day drop-down lists.  click the down arrow, then select the desired frequency from the drop-down list:  weekly, bi-weekly, or tri-weekly.  Select the desired days of the week checkboxes.  Click Save.

-     Select Semi-Monthly.  The Semi-monthly Schedule dialog displays.  Select the appropriate hour, minutes, and AM or PM setting from the Time of Day drop-down lists.  Click the down arrows, then select the appropriate days from the 1st Day of the Month and 2nd Day of the Month drop-down lists for the first and second collections.  Click Save.

-     Select None to disable the scheduler.

 

Click Save to save changes and Done to exit.



4.   To upload the Punch data into TimeSaver:

Refer to the “TimeSaver to eTIMEphone Interface Guide” for the steps to export TimeSaver Employee and Configuration Data for eTIMEphone”. Upon completion of this setup and confirmation that the punch data has been uploaded into eTIMEphone, proceed to the next section, “Reporting”.
