Assigning Employees to Supervisors


Assigning an employee to a supervisor allows the employee and the supervisor to exchange messages using the eTIMEphone system. Employees can be assigned to more than one supervisor, which allows them to exchange eTIMEphone messages with any supervisor they are assigned to.

To assign employees to supervisors:

    1. If you are not currently continuing with the Setup Wizard process, click Assign Employees to Supervisors from either the Setup Wizard screen or the navigation bar on the left side of the screen.

    1. Click a supervisor name in the Supervisors column. An employee is a supervisor if the user profile they are assigned to has the Supervisor Access checkbox selected.
    1. Click one of the tabs at the top of either column if you want to change the sort order for the column. The options are: Name, Badge (for badge number), and Profile (for user profile assignment).
    1. To assign employees to the currently selected supervisor:
      • To assign one employee, highlight the name in the master list on the left. Click > to assign the employee.
      • To assign multiple employees, highlight one employee name. Hold down Ctrl and highlight other employees. Click >.
      • To assign all employees on the list, click >>.

Note: Use < and << to return employees to the Master List, which means they are not assigned to this particular supervisor.

Result: Employees are assigned to the selected supervisor.

    1. Click Save Changes to save your selections.
    1. To assign employees to other supervisors, repeat steps 2 through 5.

Editing Supervisor Parameters

Supervisor attributes (listed in the upper right corner of the window) are configured as follows:

    1. If you want users of the administrative interface to have contact numbers for this supervisor, enter the numbers in the Primary Phone and Alternate Phone fields. These number are for information only.
    1. If you want this supervisor to receive an e-mail message when an employee dials in from an unapproved phone number, enter e-mail addresses in the Primary Email and Alternate Email fields.
    1. If you want this supervisor to receive voice massages as email attachments, click the box next to the Receive voice mail messages via email? prompt.
    1. Click Save Changes to save your selections.

How to Reassign an Employee(s) to a Different Supervisor

To reassign an employee to a different supervisor:

    1. Click on the name of the supervisor that the employee is assigned to currently.
    1. Highlight the employee or employees on the right that you want to reassign.
      • To reassign one employee, highlight the employee in the list box on the right. Click < to unassign the employee from the selected supervisor.
      • To reassign multiple employees, highlight one employee. Hold down Ctrl and highlight other employees. Click <.
    1. Select the new supervisor from the Supervisors list.
    1. Highlight the employee or employees on the left that you want to reassign.
      • To assign one employee, highlight the employee from the list on the left. Click > to assign the employee to the selected supervisor.
      • To assign multiple employees, highlight one employee. Hold down Ctrl and highlight other employees. Click >.
    1. Click Save Changes to complete the change.
